Review: This is an amazing story written by an amazing woman. It goes back and forth between the present and the past so that we get an honest and emotional look at what Lene had to go through in her life. When you read her descriptions of her attacks, and her panicked thoughts, you feel as though you are experiencing them right along with her.
Having faced the possibility of death myself, and having to contemplate how that would impact my husband and children, much of this story resonated with me. I highly recommend it, and promise that it will make you look at each day with a deeper sense of gratitude.

Lene Fogelberg is an award-winning poet and double open-heart surgery survivor. Born in Sweden, her curiosity for culture and language has drawn her to live abroad, in Germany, France and the United States, studying German, French, and English along the way. She currently lives with her family in Indonesia, where she is working on a novel that takes place in Jakarta.
