Review: This book picks up shortly after IN THE DARK ends, but can easily be read as a stand alone--although I would strongly suggest reading both.
When a pregnant girl disappears, The Holt Foundation begins an investigation. When a second pregnant girl is taken, they suspect a black market adoption ring. What they eventually discover is even darker and more upsetting.
The main characters, Seth and Marissa, are still dealing with the repercussions of her daughter Brooke's kidnapping (the topic of book #1), as well as other issues in their relationship, while at the same time having to work together to try to find the missing girls and prevent others from being taken.
There is a lot going on throughout the book, and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat, anxious to know what will happen next.
Considering what we learn in this book, will be interested to see what happens in the next one!
