NEW RELEASE...
In the Florida Keys, you have to take the shady with the sunny. And Tarpon Cove has more than fifty shades of shady going on.

Shady No. 1: When Brad is caught with the dead body of his crazy ex-girlfriend—a body he swears was planted—the Westin family gathers to plan a strategy. That family now including Fab, Didier, and Creole by default.

Shady No. 2: Fab is having a hard time keeping her promise to go legit. It’s not her fault she tends to attract clients who want their problems solved without getting the cops involved. Trying to keep her reined in is a full-time job, and a thankless one, since Madison keeps getting roped in on “easy” jobs that wind up getting the kind of messy that require specialized cleanup.

Shady No. 3: Ferreting out the info needed to save Brad means using sources so deep in the friend-of-a-friend network they’re anonymous.

The only thing not shady is Creole’s love. Madison’s kept her promise never to lie to him. Mostly. But when the killer wafts like smoke through the cracks in the investigation, it reminds her she should’ve eaten dessert first more often.

Review: The Tarpon Cove crew have done it again! These people tend to find themselves in every sort of mess imaginable (and some not so imaginable ones as well!!), but it always makes for great reading.
This entire book was full of twists and surprises, even more than most of the others. There is also plenty of action, suspense, and humor, with occasional snippets of romance. We meet a couple of new characters in this book, one related to each of the girls--there should be more to come in those storylines in the future.
The book is easily read as a stand-alone novel, but if you want to get the full impact of all the interpersonal relationships, I would suggest reading the entire series. It will be well worth your time.

Rating: Five stars

The Paradise series, are Florida Keys mysteries, “great as stand-alone reads, but they're like chips...you won't be able to devour just one!”

"South Florida author Deborah Brown books are infectious.

"My love for these quirky characters grows with every book! Hope they never end!"

"Deborah Brown has done it again. I don't think I could ever get tired of Madison, Fab, and the rest of the gang. These books are always laugh out loud funny and this one is no different. Psycho in Paradise has plenty of twists and turns that kept me turning pages. It's filled with adventure, suspense, thrills, and fun characters. It's impossible to put down."

About the Author
I've been writing, in one way or another for as long as I can remember; poetry, sappy short stories (my best friend made me swear that I’d never show anyone until I changed the names), and a romance novel shoved under my bed.

I wanted to create books with a wide range of unforgettable characters, with heat and romance, and lots of guns. It wouldn’t be complete without a slice of humor and charm.

I live with my family and demon children aka rescue cats in South Florida.

Summary:
Tommy Twigtree and his friends enjoy peace and harmony in their garden.
That is until Robbie Rabbit and his Bandits decide that carrots are on the menu!

Tommy Twigtree And The Carrot Crunchers is the first book for children by Michael Firman.

Illustrations are by Nick Roberts.

Review: An adorable little story about cooperation and friendship. The illustrations held my attention more than the text, but small children will enjoy both. Highly recommend for anyone with young children in their lives.

Michael lives in rural Sussex with his wife. His storytelling started when his eldest grandchild was old enough to appreciate a bedtime tale. Rather than read to her he began to craft stories about the trees, plants, and animals that live in his garden. As time passed and a second grandchild also enjoyed these tales of adventure and daring, the stories began to create a whole world that lived and went about its business right in his garden.

His grandkids, Poppy and Rudi continue to enjoy further developments in the lives of the characters that populate these stories and Tommy Twigtree and The Carrot Crunchers is the first in a series charming garden tales.

BOOK TOUR: Death On The Menu (Key West Food Critic Series #8) by Lucy Burdette

Death on the Menu: A Key West Food Critic Mystery by Lucy Burdette

About the Book

Cozy Mystery 8th in Series
Crooked Lane Books (August 7, 2018)
Hardcover: 295 Pages
ISBN-13: 978-1683317463
Digital ASIN: B078MBKH95
When a killer strikes just before flan time, beloved food critic Hayley Snow is forced to sniff out the killer before someone else bites the dust.
Hayley Snow, fiery food critic for Key Zest magazine, has just landed a ticket to one of the most prestigious events in Key West: a high-brow three-day conference at the Harry Truman Little White House. Even though she’ll be working the event helping her mother’s fledgling catering business, there’s plenty of spicy gossip to go around. But just before her mother’s decadent flan is put to the test, Key West’s most prized possession, Hemingway’s Nobel prize gold medal for The Old Man and the Sea, is discovered stolen from its case.
Unsavory suspicions point to Gabriel, a family friend and one of the new busboys working the event, who mysteriously goes missing moments later. Anxious to clear his name, Gabriel’s family enlists Hayley to help find him, but right as they begin their search, his body is found stabbed to death in the storeroom.
Hayley has no shortage of suspects to interrogate and very little time before the killer adds another victim to the menu in national bestselling author Lucy Burdette’s delectable eighth Key West Food Critic mystery, Death on the Menu.
Review:  Although this is the eighth book in the series, it is easily read as a stand-alone novel (which I did, having never ventured into this series before). You do miss out on some backstory of the main characters, but nothing that is essential to this story.
The author's love for Key West, its people, and places comes through in her writing. You feel as though you are right there with the characters--you can almost smell the ocean and feel the breeze!
The characters are well-defined and very engaging. I look forward to getting to know them all better in the future (starting with catching up on the other seven books!)
The mystery is suspenseful, and I had no idea of the killer until very close to the reveal. I didn't even have a suspect!  :)

Review: This is a resource I would highly recommend for any blended family. The devotions are relatively short, and each one is practical and filled with encouragement. The author writes from her own experiences and does so with understanding, love, and knowledge. The index is arranged so that the reader can easily find a devotional about a specific topic or immediate need.
Thank you to Worthy Publishing for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.

BOOK TOUR AND GIVEAWAY: To Bead Or Not To Bead (Glass Bead Mystery #4) by Janice Peacock

To Bead or Not to Bead (Glass Bead Mystery Series) by Janice Peacock

Cozy Mystery 4th in Series
Vetrai Press (June 29, 2018)
Print Length: 187 pages
Digital ASIN: B07CZ4B5Q7

About the Book

When a wealthy theater owner is killed by a falling art glass chandelier, glass beadmaker Jax O’Connell’s boyfriend, Detective Zachary Grant, quickly determines it was no accident. Jax and her friend Tessa try to carry on with a charity fashion gala at the theater, but with only a few days before the big event, they have to scramble to keep things from falling apart. The emcee quits, and to make matters worse, Tessa’s daughters are suspects in the murder. As the chaos unfolds, Jax discovers new suspects at every turn, including an edgy glass blower, an agoraphobic socialite, and a hunky former-cop-turned-actor. Can Jax piece together the clues to find the killer and uncover the dark secrets behind the victim’s family or will it be curtains for her?
Review: I've been a big fan of this series from the beginning, and always look forward to a new book. Jax and Tessa always have memorable adventures, and this is no exception.
As usual, there are moments of hilarity mixed in with the sleuthing, and also some romantic moments. I enjoyed Jax's matchmaking with Val and the new veterinarian.
I always enjoy the jewelry and bead making descriptions the author works into the story (and I am blessed to be the proud owner of one of her bracelets!).
There are secrets galore to be uncovered in this story, and Jax manages to put herself in danger yet again. I was totally surprised at the identity of the killer, for sure.
I can hardly wait to see what will happen next with this crew.

About the Author

Janice Peacock decided to write her first mystery novel after working in a glass studio full of colorful artists who didn’t always get along. They reminded her of the odd, and often humorous, characters in the murder mystery books she loved to read. Inspired by that experience, she combined her two passions and wrote High Strung: A Glass Bead Mystery, the first book in a new cozy mystery series featuring glass beadmaker Jax O’Connell.
When Janice Peacock isn’t writing about glass artists who are amateur detectives, she makes glass beads using a torch, designs one-of-a-kind jewelry and makes sculptures using hot glass. An award-winning artist, her work has been exhibited internationally and is in the permanent collections of several museums. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, two cats, and seven chickens. She has a studio full of beads...lots and lots of beads.
